Today I learned about the modern events that are happening throughout the world and how to analyze their importance.
News Literacy is the ability to be able to read an article and be able to analyze if it is credible or not. It is also being able to read facts, quotes, and opinions and see which are factual and which aren't.
Newspapers are important in a democracy because as Thomas Jefferson said,"and if it were left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." Thomas Jefferson stated this because a newspaper informs everyone and can tell people the importance of current events.
The role we play in terms of the news is we get to analyze and judge the morality of events or we get to give a view of the event. Also, due to modern technology, many people can provide what is happening to the whole world.
